Top 16 Gaming Titles to Be Released in 2016

After a unreal year for gaming in 2015, 2016 is set to be even better with tens of unreal new titles from indie developers to continued franchises. To help you prepare, here are unFOMO’s top 16 games to look forward to in 2016! These titles are so good they might make you pull a Ferris Bueller or two . . .
16. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Release date: August 23rd, 2016
The sequel to the 2011 game Human Revolution, Mankind Divided sees you play as Adam Jansen, working to put an end to terrorist attacks in Prague.
15. Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst
Release Date: May 24th, 2016
Taking place before the first game, Catalyst is set to provide a backstory to Faith Connors. Fans are hoping for less gunplay and more parkour and action moments.
14. For Honor
Release Date: TBA (2016)
Reminiscent of Chivalry: Medieval warfare, For Honor is going to be the latest game by Ubisoft Montreal. Play as history’s great swordsmen from Vikings and knights to samurais and face other players in a huge online battleground.
13. Dark Souls III
Release Date: April 12, 2016
The latest entry to the series that has received worldwide acclaim. Set to be even tougher and scarier than before with Hidetaka Miyazaki back to lead development.
12. Dishonored 2
Release Date: Spring 2016
Dishonored 2 is the sequel to the critically-acclaimed Dishonored, a game that has you playing as a supernatural assassin. With hundreds of ways to tackle levels and take on enemies, fans of the series are hoping this entry won’t disappoint.
11. Gears of War 4
Release Date: Q4 2016
After a 5 year break in the Gears of War franchise, GoW 4 is set to be a triumphant return. Epic Games will not be developing this one, instead it is to be created by The Coalition.
10. Planet Coaster
Release Date: March 2016 (Beta, continued updates until release), “Later in” 2016 (Steam)
From Frontier, developers of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, comes Planet Coaster. Announced at E3 2015, innovative terrain tools and building tools that give every player freedom to build what they want, Planet Coaster looks like it will be the spiritual successor to RCT3 and the game the fans want after two disappointing entries in RCT4 Mobile and RCTW.
9. Tom Clancy’s: The Divison
Release Date: March 8th, 2016
Nearly 3 years after it was originally announced, The Divison is set to come to stores this March. It is an open world third-person shooter, taking place in NYC after all infrastructure collapses when a virus is released on Black Friday. No change there then.
8. Quantum Break
Release Date: April 5, 2016
This game comes from the creators of Alan Wake and Max Payne. The story will see you in the town of Riverport after a time travel experiment went wrong.
7. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
Release Date: April 26th, 2016
Set 3 years after Uncharted 3, the game will end Nathan Drake’s adventures. The first game on the next generation, it is expected to have stunning visuals and action sequences. As with other games in the series, it is a Playstation Exclusive.
6. Mass Effect: Andromeda
Release Date: November 7th, 2016
Taking place a long time after the first trilogy, Andromeda is the next big entry in one of the most critically-acclaimed franchises of all time.
5. Doom
Release Date: May 13th, 2016
A reboot of sorts, Doom brings the iconic FPS into the next generation. A huge amount of gore, demons, overpowered guns and other such Doom goodies make it seem like we never left.
4. The Last Guardian
Release Date: 2016 (hopefully, at least)
Originally announced in 2010, The Last Guardian is aiming to be released this year. Somewhat of a spiritual successor to Shadow of the Colossus, Team Ico is set to provide us with another amazing experience.
3. American Truck Simulator
Release Date: February 3rd, 2016
Expect to be trucking day and night, in Desert, rain, wind, snow and all other conditions as you travel across California and expand your trucking business. Like ETS2, the game will have expansions adding other states, until SCS have completed their ultimate goal of having the entire United States in the game. This one is going to be good.
2. Hitman
Release Date: March 11th, 2016
The stealth action returns in March. Control Agent 47 and prepare to be faced with missions that will put you in a sandbox more than ever, with open worlds in each level and literally thousands of ways to take down your target. Fast or slow, loud or quiet, the choice is up to you.
